Welcome.

Hello, thank you for visiting and welcome along to the website of the Lovelace Theatre Group. We are small but dynamic and vibrant group engaged in the production of plays musicals and amateur theatre.

The Lovelace Theatre Group puts on three productions a year and has a long history dating back to the late 60's. We perform at the John Godber Centre in Hucknall, Nottinghamshire. The building is a converted church hall which has a purpose built stage complete with licenced bar and full amenities. There's rumoured to be a ghost wandering about backstage too!

Feel free to browse the website. We hope you enjoy looking around.

Please note that this site looks best when viewed in Internet Explorer 5 or above and at last it will work in Firefox and other browsers too!

Drama Over!

What a fantastic show it has been. After sellout performances, the Lovelace Panto 'Cinders' was a great success! There was even more drama on stage when our smoke machine set off the fire alarm and we had to evacuate the building temporarily!

This however never dampened the enuthiasm of the cast or audience and the show went on.

dates back to 1906. More..

So, how did it all start? Well, in 1968 a teacher called David Henty came to live in Hucknall. When he discovered that there was no drama group in the town he decided to form one to showcase the talent of Hucknall and beyond. The church hall was the promised venue and with borrowed money he staged a grand performance of 'Cinderella' and so the Hucknall Dramatic Society was born... Click here for more info.
