Hiccups and slip-ups for Lovelace Theatre Group!

A SCENE from the juniors' play featuring (from left) Rebecca Mitchell, Jared Perrin and Lauren Newbold

HUCKNALL'S Lovelace Theatre Group are set to serve up a double helping of fun with two one-act plays to be staged at the John Godber Centre on Ogle Street.

The group's juniors, directed by Derek Frearson, will be performing John Townsend's hilarious play, 'Hiccups And Slip-Ups', which is set in a vet's surgery and brings together a cast made up predominantly of students from Hucknall National and Holgate Comprehensive Schools.

Hoping to make their marks in the play will be Jess Johnson, Jared Perrin, Lucy Randall, Emma Crump, Lauren Newbold, Beth Garwood, Kiera Vann, Morgan Brown and Rebecca Mitchell.

Not to be outdone, Lovelace's seniors, led by Bernie Kirk, have chosen David Tristram's play, 'Last Tango In Little Grimley', and a cast of four, Thomas Stevenson, Reece Saint, Chloe Smith and Rachel Williams, promise plenty of laughs.

The offering, described as a "play wthin a play", focuses on Little Grimley Amateur Dramatic Society, who are facing closure because of dwindling resources.

Lovelace's double-header takes place on Thursday, Friday and Saturday October 15 to 17 at 7.30 each night.

Tickets, priced £5 and £4 concessions, may be booked by phoning 0115 9639633 or you can pay at the door.
